I feel fortunate to have received the kind of service and workmanship that my wife and I found in working with Dexperts. Not just reliable and functional but creative, honest, and pleasant to have working in our home. Our project involved fencing in a sizable piece of our one acre lot in the county to bring us peace of mind with our new Schnauzer puppy. But we do a lot of gardening and we needed good ideas to keep the yard unified and fully accessible so we lucked out in finding Andrew and Kevin of Dexperts because they had no problem with creative concepts to satisfy our needs. The result was four unique and individual gates and arbors to bring together the eclectic style of our home and garden while safeguarding "Wilbur". This project has added privacy appropriately and simultaneously tied everything together with cool styling. One gate is like a hobbit aesthetic, tucked under a honeysuckle arbor and using hand split rustic cedar. Another is light and airy with lots of curving polished details and happily home to beautiful clematis. Another double gate is a hefty farm style and ties in the old barn in the back of the property. And the most impressive gate is an arched door style within a peaked arbor design that is home to wisteria and gives one the sense of a Japanese gate house. Great quality and good people; we scored! These guys know their materials and how to please a customer. And one secret benefit; Andrew is a great horticulturist himself and can provide you with valuable advice on planting choices

Earlier this year we hired Dexperts to remodel our front deck and could not have been happier with the experience. I the past we have had issues with contractors making big promises then failing to deliver, so it was a pleasant surprise when we were spoken to openly and honestly about what we could expect from our modest budget. We would strongly recommend Andrew Bleyhl and his team of Dexperts. He was patient in our material selection, started the job when he said he would, and finished on time. His crew kept the area the neat and clean and worked hard. The finished product exceeded our expectation, and we are very happy with the job he did.

I felt Andrew was able to sense the right design for our deck. I love cedar and the natural feel of wood but I wanted maintenance Free. He was able to tie in cedar, aluminum spindles, glass, and mahogany to give the Deck a wood feel but still with less maintenance. It is also beautiful. Then he added stairs that are user friendly. They are not steep, easy to maintain and has that extra rail needed, as I grow older. I would highly recommend Andrew’s work.

We feel very fortunate to have found Andrew and Dexperts to build the pergola over our patio and add a little height to our back fence. Andrew’s pergola design was not only decorative but sturdy enough to fend off the winds we get where we live (literally putting the posts 4 feet in the ground!) The crew who did the construction was very conscientious and talented. This was, at all levels a perfect experience. We do not hesitate to recommend Andrew and Dexperts. He has now completed two projects for us and we are more than satisfied. In both instances, he not only helped us determine the most cost-effective solutions, but Andrew has a great design aesthetic, and his solutions, particularly in one instance, were quite elegant.

We live on a steep slope in a two-story house. Outside the lower level, on the side of the house facing the uphill slope, there is a large area with a deck/driveway above it. Half the area below is outside walking areas to access utilities and outdoor tools; the other half was bare-dirt hillside. Under all of that decking, there were utility pipes and exposed electrical, making any installation challenging. We received three proposals, and Andrew’s not only created aesthetic solutions we – and the other contractors – never considered, but he saved us thousands of dollars. We now have an under-deck water catchment system to prevent rainwater from falling on the path at all, so there is a dry area now, and captured rainwater is directed into French drains. The new “ceiling” is attractive, in addition to being functional. But what we particularly appreciated was that Andrew recommended, to prevent erosion of the hillside, rather than a similar under-deck system, we simply cover the exposed concrete footings and dirt with landscape fabric, and install plantings conducive to the climate and lack of light. (He is also a master gardener, so he recommended the plants to use.) The result in that area is a system that prevents soil wash at a fraction of the cost and turned an area that was an eyesore into a plant grotto, enhancing the value of our home.

Subsequently, we hired Andrew again to “fix” a poor tree installation in the front of our house, in a steep terraced garden area. We relied on his design aesthetic again for tree placement, and he achieved exactly the look we wanted, while also stabilizing the hillside and repairing damage to the irrigation system done by the original tree installers.

In the not-too-distant future, we must replace the retaining walls on the front of the house, and there is no one else we will consider hiring. In addition to finding the most cost-effective and attractive solutions to difficult problems, he has always been prompt and on-schedule, and he is just plain fun to work with. Probably the greatest testament, though, is that since Andrew completed the under-deck project, several contractors – painting, carpentry, etc. – have seen that area, and to a person, they’ve all commented on how impressive the work is, wanted to know who did it, and the general response is, “Oh, yes, Dexperts. They’re really good.”

Andrew has our permission to bring prospective clients to our home to show them the solutions he came up with and the quality of his work.

Since 1998 we have hired Dexperts to carry out many projects. Major projects included several garden renovations, re-engineering our deck, constructing a horticultural lath house beneath the deck, replacing a long estate fence, installing an aluminum deer fence, partially finishing the crawl space beneath the house, and re-building an outside wall to repair severe water damage. Dexperts also served as general contractor when our home was repainted, and when the original cedar shake roof was replaced with composite roofing. Led by Andrew and Kevin, the Dexperts team always provided services on budget, on schedule and in a timely manner. Although many of our requests were unusual, Dexperts invariably responded with enthusiasm, professionalism, and technical excellence. Their rates have been fair and competitive, and we have always been delighted with the results. We are pleased to recommend Dexperts to you in the strongest possible terms and without any reservations.

My wife and I hired Andrew and his staff at Dexperts in 2007 to design and construct a new deck and arbor for our lakefront home. The results were tremendous and we continue to receive positive feedback from our houseguests. We followed up with a privacy screen this year and once again had nothing but positive feedback. The Bid - As with any project where I am going to hire a contractor, there is always the fear of things not going as planned or just plain falling through. To be perfectly honest, the first time we met I was very unsure of your capabilities, you seemed so relaxed and easy going, and you did not bring very much with you. After our second meeting I had a better feeling about you and your ability. You brought pictures of previous jobs, CAD drawings of our project, and you showed up exactly on time. Finally, as we defined how we wanted the deck built and had questions, you always provided complete answers and followed through as promised every time and on time. That is when I decided you should get our business, and you provided me right by continuing to deliver exactly what we discussed.

Work in Progress - You and your crew did everything as we agreed and left a clean work site at the end of every day. As with any project, we did come across a couple of problems as the work was progressing, but you came through and delivered to make us happy. The design of our stairs came out perfect, you made them work given the space constraints, much better than what I had imagined.

Finished product - To put it simply, WE LOVE IT! The attention to detail, the materials used, everything came out just awesome. Some quotes from neighbors and friends, "Wow!" "That is the nicest deck I have ever seen" and "This is like fine furniture". This has created a great space for us to enjoy the outdoors. We will always cherish it.

Dexperts completed building a fence and deck for me this spring. I am more than delighted with the finished products! The fence was installed in a day and the deck is more than I imagined. Andrew was able to design my deck after I showed him several pictures of what I liked and did not like. I tried to explain to him my ideas and concerns about the location. Not only was he able to interpret what I was thinking of; he suggested a pergola for shade, which I had not thought of at all. He also built two planter boxes for me to set on the deck. He sent me several design options to pick from through email and then also made changes I wondered about until I was able to make my final choice. I was so impressed with Dexperts and will be recommending them to everybody. Within three days we had a brand new, beautiful, deck. The best part for me was that they picked up every nail, screw and scrap of paper every night when they left. I knew I could let my four year old go out in the backyard and he wouldn't get into anything. Andrew also worked within my budget. I showed him pictures of what I wanted (which was, apparently, quite costly). Because the railing I wanted was so expensive they had a work around that looks just like it but was half the cost. This past September Dexperts built a fence around my yard. It included three gates and an arbor. This was, to me, a very simple job that would require an average effort under normal circumstances. What I discovered is the workers at Dexperts treated this job with the highest regard and professionalism as they would have a complex job. They are artists that love their craft and enjoy doing a job well done. This professionalism starts at the top. From the beginning, Andrew was always concerned with what we wanted and was on site during construction. He even called after a big wind storm to see how things held up! We are very impressed and appreciative.

Since buying our last house my wife and I have had a number of work crews from various trades doing work for us so we know what to expect and what we want out of a company doing that work. The quality of work from Dexperts was top notch and the courteousness and attention to detail from the whole crew was truly impressive. The final product was flawless and we would not hesitate in suggesting their services to anyone.

I appreciated the good communication from Andrew. He was always responsive and kept ne up to date on the project. The quality of the work is very good and looks extremely nice. Andrew offered color suggestions which turned out looking very sharp.

From the first time Andrew came to our home to prepare a quote for us we were impressed with his organization. He had materials for us to look at and gave us his opinions on what colors of decking and railings would look the best together. This was not the case with other companies.
